Energy Procurement

Many organizations do not have the time and/or in-house expertise to facilitate low-cost energy procurement solutions. Often serving as an outsourced energy department, MD Energy Advisors specializes in helping commercial and industrial (C&I) building industries, including multifamily apartment buildings, understand and evaluate energy supply costs.

We create energy purchasing strategies, manage RFP processes and simplify power purchasing. Our energy procurement experts can work with you to identify solutions to reduce energy cost.

“The process was simple, and MD Energy Advisors delivered a personalized solution to immediately identify energy cost savings for my building.”

Step 1:

Collect energy data to develop a profile for your account(s). The best path for us to get this data is to request it directly from the local utilities. Signing a Letter of Authorization (LOA) provides the utility with permission to release energy consumption data to MD Energy Advisors and permission for MD Energy Advisors to negotiate on your behalf.

Step 2:

Issue RFPs to suppliers. After analyzing your energy consumption, we’ll send out a request for proposal (RFP) to suppliers to bid on your business. The personalized RFP will be based around your specific energy needs and the opportunities we believe will help you reduce energy cost.

Step 3:

Review contracts and negotiate. We review the submitted energy procurement contracts and negotiate to help you lock in rates and terms.
