Michael Carr joins MD Energy Advisors as a Plumbing and Electrification Specialist for Baltimore Gas & Electric's (BGE) residential midstream HPWH (Heat Pump Water Heater) program. This position ensures that clients, contractors, and distributors understand the various rebate programs available via EmPower MD, Maryland's statewide energy efficiency initiative designed to reduce energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and save consumers money.

An experienced warranty service plumber with strong experience in new construction installs, Michael worked for Schaffer Mechanical, a prominent veteran-owned HVAC and plumbing contractor that provides service to both residential and commercial customers, before he joined the team at MDEA. He also worked as a service plumber for Carroll County government offices where he handled service calls and preventative maintenance tasks for the county. His personal knowledge of warranty terms and government oversight requirements delivers added value in his current role where he assists clients decide on appropriate solutions for their specific needs and then helps them access and process supporting rebates and offers.

Michael is a licensed Journeyman Plumber and has his Backflow certification from the Maryland State Board of Plumbing.
